Be the voice of hope for people experiencing homelessness in Peterborough
Help4Homeless is launching a vital Homeless Helpline service for Peterborough, providing emergency support, advice, and signposting for people experiencing homelessness, at risk of homelessness, or in crisis situations. As a Helpline Volunteer, you'll be the first point of contact for vulnerable individuals seeking help, offering compassionate support, practical advice, and connecting them to essential services. This is a unique opportunity to make a life-changing impact from the comfort of your home.
Every day, people in Peterborough face homelessness, eviction, or housing crisis. Our helpline will be their lifeline - providing immediate support when they need it most. As a volunteer, you'll be the calm, reassuring voice that helps someone find shelter, access food, or connect with services that can change their life trajectory.
Our most successful helpline volunteers are naturally caring individuals who remain calm during emotional conversations. You don't need previous experience - we provide comprehensive training. What matters most is your genuine desire to help others and your ability to listen without judgment. Many of our volunteers are students, career changers, retirees, or anyone looking to make a meaningful difference in their community.
